Since 2022, the Funky Latina Music Festival has stood as Arizona’s exclusive Latin indie music festival. Organized by its founder, Elyssa Bustamante, a.k.a. "The Funky Latina," the event's core mission is to elevate and showcase emerging Latinx artists across a diverse range of genres. Vanita Leo
Vanita Leo is a Mexican-American singer from San Antonio whose music fuses cumbia, pop, and Tejano with a modern twist. Her sound celebrates her roots while bringing a fresh energy to the genre. Her 2025 EP Cumbiamante highlights her vibrant style and deep connection to her culture.

Introverted Funk
Introverted Funk is a Los Angeles–based duo blending the timeless grooves of funk, disco, and R&B with a modern, soulful edge. Formed by producer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Valle (a.k.a. P.B.) and vocalist-songwriter Veronica Rosa, the project is a cross-California collaboration, with Daniel hailing from LA and Vero from the East Bay.

Las Lloronas are a Latina DJ duo based in Phoenix, Arizona made up of Paulina and Bri better known as DJ Spin Lizzy and DJ Bruiser. The duo is known for mixing cumbia, rock en español, post-punk, and global sounds into electrifying, genre-blurring sets.

Elyssa Bustamante — “The Funky Latina” — is the creator of the Funky Latina Music Festival and a Phoenix-based producer, host, and cultural curator. Her work spans brand collaborations, community stages, a podcast spotlighting emerging artists, and multiple film projects — including being an Executive Producer on Street Smart: Lessons from a TV Icon. She’s been recognized as a rising Latino leader and cultural voice in Arizona.
